CNC Milling Parts

Rather than using a manual process, at Moon Tool, our professional tool makers employ high volume CNC (computerized numerical control) milling through the use of eleven different machines, all with varying capabilities and capacities. Each one interacts with a computer that is equipped with software that translates the numerical code into precise instructions for the cutting and drilling of material. This allows the milling to be done at an incredibly high precision rate, even on the most intricate jobs. So, whether the need is a custom CNC milled part or a high-volume milling production, these machines can get the job done.

Why Moon Tool CNC Milling?

All our machines in our CNC Milling Department are programmed with MasterCAM software offline to enable maximum uptime for machining operations and are equipped with probing systems. Several have 4th axis units and many are outfitted with ChipBLASTER High Pressure Coolant systems.

Also included in our machine line-up are:

  • Matsuura MX520: can do simultaneous 5 axis machining
  • HAAS VF-6: a vertical 3 axis mill with a trunnion which we refer to as a 3+2 axis due to the fact that we cannot machine all 5 axis simultaneously.

These highly versatile and precise machines have opened even more doors in our custom CNC milling services.

CNC Milling Machines

  • 5-axis capacity
  • Travel: 24” x 22” x 20”
  • Spindle speed: 12,000 RPM
  • 5-Axis Machining – Allows 3-axis users to easily make the transition to full 5-axis operation.
  • Intelligent Protection System – The IPS within the MX-520 allows for ultra-safe collision protection by simulating your programmed component to alert the user of any collisions before the actual machining process. This feature renders the machined part in real time on your screen.
  • On-Line Link with PC – Links your external PC with the machining center to make educated and safe decisions.
  • Power Saving – Power cut-off function and energy-saving devices installed.
  • Stable Accuracy – Spindle thermal displacement compensation.
  • Machine Down Time Reduction – Preventive maintenance and machine restoration support functions.
  • Highly Rigid Structure – At Moon Tool, our CNC Mills offer RAM type structures for optimal rigidity and high reliability.
