Grinding finds many uses within manufacturing including as a finishing process, a sharpening tool, and it can provide extreme precision cuts and metal removal at high-speed rates. Taking the place of what was once managed by single-edged tools such as chisels, grinding machines that can be seen on manufacturing floors today pack a little more of a punch. Although there are different types, including belt, bench, cylindrical grinders and more, they all consist of power-driven grinding wheels that work on the removal of metal from a piece of raw material using an abrasive machining process.
