CNC Machinist
Job Function – Manufacturing
Location – Meadville PA (USA)
Shift – Day, Night & Weekend Shifts (Up to a 20% Shift Differential available)
Role Summary:
Machinists use lathes, milling machines, grinders, and other machine tools to produce precision metal parts utilizing both manual and CNC machinery. The machinist edits instructions into the CNC machine to determine the cutting path, cutting speed, and feed rate. This employee may produce large quantities of one part and precision machinists often produce small batches or single items.
Major Responsibilities Include:
- Read detailed drawings or files, such as blueprints, sketches, and those for computer-aided design (CAD) and computer-aided manufacturing (CAM)
- Set up, operate, and disassemble manual, automatic, and computer numerically controlled (CNC) machine tools.
- Align, secure, and adjust cutting tools and workpieces.
- Monitor the feed and speed of machines.
- Turn, mill, drill, shape, and grind machine parts to specifications.
- Verify that completed products meet requirements.
- Ability to conduct a first article inspection to inspect in-process parts and finished machined parts.
- Repair broken parts or machines when necessary.
Additional Responsibilities Include:
- Working knowledge of Microsoft Office (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook)
- Must have the ability to communicate, work as a team, and have good oral and written communication skills.
- Ability to work independently with little supervision.
- Must be able to follow directions provided by Supervisor and/or Management.
- Ability to adapt and work efficiently in a rapidly changing dynamic environment with deadline pressures.
- Time managing skills with the ability to multi-task, prioritize and meet deadlines
- Ability to work overtime when required to meet deadlines when they arise.
Qualifications / Requirements:
- Maintain paperwork and database accurately.
- Programming experience a plus.
- Experience running various types of metals.
